future physical was a cultural programme which took place in east england from 2001-2003. It explored the changing boundaries between the virtual and the physical. the programme was co-conceived and managed by shinkansen (london) with east england arts. the website was developed as information resource and online community to support the programme and each of the research strands.
the programme focus was on connectivity between arts, culture, education, science and industry with special emphasis on the population of east england and young people.the programme was content led and structured around four research strands:

ecotechnology wearable computing
