Charles Matthews combines a successful international career as both organist and pianist.

He studied at the Royal College of Music and as an organ scholar at Trinity College Cambridge. He won First Prize in the Ferenc Liszt Competition in Budapest and Second Prize in the Valentino Bucchi Competion in Rome.

He recently received an award form the Sonic Arts Network for his interpretation of piano music by Jonathon Harvey.

Recent appearances have included performances in the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Russia and the USA.

He has recorded a CD of works by Bax for Olympia Records and of French organ music in the Madeleine, Paris for Priory Records.
